Who we are

John Huffman is a career solar professional. He graduated from Appalachian State in 2011 with a degree in Appropriate Technology and has been building ever larger PV and BESS projects since. To date, he has designed, built and/or commissioned >8 GW of renewables.

The industry has evolved considerably in this time. What started with grant-funded startups building small distributed generation PV plants in a few weeks has become a wave of gigawatt-scale hybrid facilities, constituting the majority of new domestic generation capacity.

A datalogger and a cell modem used to be enough to know when to roll a truck. Current projects require more careful consideration for communications and controls. Modern grid, owner, operator, EPC and vendor needs are more diverse, complex and sensitive. Our understanding of the technologies, grid codes and practical operations allows us to fully integrate solutions that fit every stakeholder’s needs.

Life is a climb. The ascent is its own reward.
